  • Scope and Content
"Glad you have seen Wedgwood's service for the Czarina... I shall not be displeased if Wrest and Wimpole make some figure... they are pretty enough to deserve a good place, even in a collection of the prettiest views in England. Who knows but our tower may have the inestimable glory of pleasing her Imperial Majesty and be mounted upon some Hill at Czarsko Zelo." No finished drawings with her, but will send key; drawings are in the lowermost drawer of the bookcase in my dressingroom, the finished ones in a large book, the sketches in a smaller... There are likewise my 3 framed drawings... As to the lending them out, I leave that entirely to you... The general view in black lead of the water bridge and tower has not got the gateway in it, so I have cut a leaf out of my drawing book and send it along with the key, ... 2 more... will be sent up next Thursday, one of the window and the other of the cold bath."
