Created as a Board School in 1876, becoming a Council School in 1903, a CPJ in 1946 and Leagrave Junior School in 1964. In 1913 a new mixed school opened in Norton Road and ‘teachers of the mixed dept viz, the Headmaster Mr P E Mitchell, Mr F Odell, Miss C Shackleton and Miss R Cork practically terminate duties in this old School today as they will be transferred to the new mixed school Norton Rd after the summer holidays’. The former school site then became an Infants school.
