Opened 5th April 1880 and admitted 7 girls. Eliza Jarman, head mistress. By the 13th April there were 38 on the roll and by the 23rd April, 53. The numbers continued to grow with 91 on the roll by 16th July. Miss Jarman resigned the headship on 28th February 1899 and the log book ceases at this point.
