Letter from Thomas Ward of Hitchin to Mr John Conquest dated 18th August 1835 reading as follows:
"Sir, I yesterday Received of the Rev'd R Maxwell Fifteen Pounds you sent by him, the Amount is not due until October 11th, however I have made out the Receipt to that time. Could you and Mrs Conquest have spared time to visit the Rev'd J Bell the change might have been beneficial but as your large family occupy so much of your time you will defer that pleasure. Mrs Ward unites in kind regards to Mrs Conquest and I remain Yours Truly Thomas Ward"
