Scope and Content
Colour postcard of a photograph of the interior of the Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey, landscape orientation. The photographshows the classical columns brought back from Rome in the 1790s by the 5th Duke of Bedford and installed in the gallery, which can be seen housing a large collection of busts and sculptures collected by the 5th and 6th Dukes. Postcard is unused and is part of the Valentine's Series published by J Valentine & Son Ltd. The stamp box says "Valentine's Series is a guarantee of British Manufacture". Postcard is entitled "Sculpture Gallery, Woburn Abbey" on the front with a series number of 38727 (JV).
