- Scope and Contentstates i) Edmund Powers lived in large houses and had more stock in them than the £115 sworn to by Ellen Phillips ii) He had no interest in Albion Mills; Bank paid £5250 in partial discharge of Mortgage to Joint Stock Bank on Albion Mills. iii) Before the death of Edmund Powers in 1883, his three sons spent £615,17s,0d on enlarging Langford Mills iv) In 1869-1870 Powers & Sons asked for overdraft facilities for £15,000; allowed only £10,000 on the security of the deposit of the Deeds of Biggleswade Mills. Bank still holds the deeds. v) In 1875-1880 Bank had several conversations with Edmund Powers about Powers & Sons overdrawn account. Edmund Powers stated that this was fully covered by the deposit of the above deeds. Biggleswade Mills valued at £15,000 vi) Powers & Sons account closed owing £24,540,10s,4d. claims that if Biggleswade Mills part of Testator's estate, then the Bank should include the above sum as an incumbrance upon it with Interest at 5%.
