Turvey Church and War Memorial. The photograph was taken from Carlton Road looking North towards the church. In the bottom right hand corner is the Granite wheel cross War Memorial on a one-stepped base surrounded by posts and chains. The memorial is Grade II listed. On the left hand side of the picture, just visible is part of The Three Cranes public house with Bottom Lodge alongside the drive entrance to Turvey House. Just to the right of the driveway is the Lych Gate entrance to the Church yard with the church behind. In front of the wall surrounding the graveyard is a wooden bench. Postally used 15 September 1976. Copyright A W Bourne, Babingley Drive, Leicester. Card sent to Mrs C Batty, Crewe, Cheshire. Message reads "Dear Celia, enjoying my holiday very much although the weather isn't too good. We went to Turvey yesterday to see Nigel and his new house. It was a lovely drive down but rained most of the way back. It's a very nice village, quite old as you can see by the picture. They have a really nice house and I think will be a happy home for them for a long time. See you soon, love as always. Edith"
