Hugh not likely to have enough capital when 25. written to Shaw Savill and Company to remit £50 to their agents Levin and Company for A C Powers. do not advise return home , unlikely he will get on well with Hugh. talk to H E Powers, his mother, 2 younger sisters living in smaller house in eg. Sandy or Hitchin, eldest sister goes back to George Phillips. T J Hooper thinks “ Fred knows the business is a very good one and thinks that if he helps Hugh now he can find some capital and join him in partnership” when H E Powers is 25. Frederick’s terms business pay 5% on capital out of profits then divide balance equally between family and himself ie. £30,000 in business and profits £3500 Family £1500 (5% of £30,000) and half profit £1000 (½ profit) Total £2500 Frederick £1000 (½ profit as salary) “no doubt he [Frederick] is a very good man of business and could do very well (but cf HF42!!) thinks this is too much – would have to sign agreement not to set up in opposition
