    Presentment that Joseph Stokes, labourer, James Audley, labourer, Jabez Auton, labourer, Catherine Bennett, spinster, Mary Baldock, spinster, Sarah Medlock, wife of William Medlock and Mary Stratton, spinster with other evil disposed persons to the number of 50 or more did on 5 June, unlawfully riotously and routously assemble and gather together to disturb the peace. There assembled and gathered a certain figure resembling a man, an effigy of a man, and certain other figure resembling a woman, an effigy of a woman They then did carry and exhibit the effigies along the common highway and unlawfully make a certain large fire in the common highway and the burn the said figures. Further they an assault was made on Henry Tingley. It is further presented that defendants did unlawfully make a great noise and disturbance and remain there for the space 8 hours or more. The defendants plead Not Guilty and are not be tried by 12 good and lawful men of the county of Bedford.
