    ‘In the name of God. Amen. Commend my soul to God…merits of my only Saviour Jesus Christ to inherit everlasting life.’ -To son Richard, copyhold messuage, lands and tenements held of manors of Biggleswade and Biggleswade Fordinge and also of manors of Potton Regis, Potton Rectoria and Potton Much Manured: Dixies farm. - To wife Margaret (extrix) half share of residue of father’s estate, to enable her to bring up son Richard, eldest daughter Ann and two other sons, Robert and Edward, daughter Mary and unborn child: house and several messuages and lands in Clifton held for term of 500 yers, for life: other messuage etc out of her jointure together with estate in Clifton lately purchased from Mr Pemberton Bedford, clerk, for 14 years provided she remains a widow: if she dies: To brothers in law, Edward Rudd of Biggleswade, gent and William Crump of Westminster, gent for remainder of term of 14 years and after expiry of term, death or remairriage of wife in trust to pay:- To sons Robert and Edward, daughter Mary and unborn child monetary bequest.
