- Scope and Content‘Commend my soul to God…life eternal in the kingdom of God.’ To loving friends John Altham and John Dixie of Gray’s Inn, Middlesex and William Abbis of Stotfold, gent, upon trust, to sell manor, messuage and lands, except for one cottage in Clifton now in possession of James Pratt, testator’s old servant, and pay following legacies:- To wife Frances, money bequeathed, plate and linen, her choice of a bedstead and bedding and one other bedstead and bedding for a servant, furniture of any one room in mansion house at Clifton as she chooses, and furniture of one other room suitable for her servant. To friends, John Altham, John Dixie and W Abbis, all rest of moveable goods to sell and pay Frances £100 per annum until her monetary legacy is received. To sister Anne Parsell, widow, monetary bequest To nephew Nathaniel Parsell, money to buy a ring. To nieces, Hannah, wife of Robert Goodhall, esq and Sarah and Roberta Parsell, mon. bequest. To Robert Goodhall and his son William monetary bequest To sister Margaret Trice, widow, monetary bequest To nephews Nathaniel and John Trice and neice Hannah wife of Samuel Pont, monetary bequest To nephew Matthew Fearne, only son of sister (deceased) mon bequest. To brother John Dixie, mon. bequest ‘as a token of my love unto him and in recompense of his fidelity, care and love towards me not leaving me in all my misfortune.’ To brother Walstan Dixie, his choice of best horse and gelding. To niece Rosamund Dixie, monetary bequest. To all other nephews and nieces, monetary bequest.
