- Scope and ContentRecites 19/12/1877 “Transfer of Mortgage” of Freehold land and buildings at Luton. Made between a) Samuel Lloyd Howard Esq of Goldings, Loughton, Essex b) Robert Luke Howard and Eliot Howard both of 84 Upper Whitecross Street London and of Luton, Engineers and brass founders and c) David Howard of Stamford Hill Middlesex. 19th December 1872 Indenture between a) Robert Luke Howard and Eliot Howard and b) Samuel Lloyd Howard conveying a piece of land to Samuel Lloyd Howard and his heirs for the sum of two thousand pound with interest at the rate of £4-10 shillings per cent per annum. 16th September 1874 Indenture between a) Robert Luke Howard and Eliot Howard and b) Samuel Lloyd Howard that the piece of land in Indenture dated 19th December 1872 was charged and was a security to Samuel Lloyd Howard, his executors, administrators and assigns for the payment of three thousand pounds with interest at £5 per cent per annum. The sums of two thousand pounds and three thousand pounds are now due and owing to Samuel Lloyd Howard but all interest has been paid. Robert Luke Howard and Eliot Howard, agreed to pay David Howard the sum of five thousand pounds with interest at the rate of £4-10 shillings per cent per annum on 19th June 1878. If not paid by the said date, then payments, with interest, to be paid 19th June and 19th December of every year until cleared. David Howard agreed to convey to Robert Luke Howard and Eliot Howard a piece of land of 3 acres and 2 roods, situated at the south of Crawley Green Road, Luton, together with the buildings and machinery in the buildings. The property to be insured for seven thousand five hundred pounds.
