    Lot 3 1853 26 February - Draft deed of settlement ('the original is stated to have been burnt....after the death of Joseph Potts') between Edmund Potts and wife Ann and Joseph Potts of Billington, platelayer, son of said E Potts Consideration - weekly and other sums of money to be paid by Joseph to parents E and A Potts grant to Joseph Potts (among other grants - freehold barn, stable and 2 gardens at Billington in occupation of E Potts lying in front of copyhold property firstly described, with private road adjoining also Edmund Potts assigned to Joseph Potts - all leasehold property for residue of term of 499 years commencing 29 September 1648 - all household goods with covenant to surrender copyhold property into hands of Lord of Manor of Leighton Buzzard otherwise Grovebury to use of Joseph To be charged with payment of 8s weekly to Edmund Potts during life and after his death with 5s to Ann for life. After decease of both then £10 to be paid to children of Mary Nash, deed (the daughter of Edmund Potts, and wife of George Nash, Leighton Buzzard, mason) as are then living. 1857 25 November - Death of Joseph Potts at Orleans, France, intestate, leaving Edmund Potts his father and heir at law 1858 3 January - Will of Edmund Potts sons John and Thomas Potts appointed executors and trustees ... to wife - personal property ... to John and Thomas Potts - freehold and leasehold messuages and all real and personal estate upon trust for sale money arising - to pay funeral expenses - divided as stated in will 1868 31 December. Codicil to said will bequest to sons revoked and also their appointment as executors and trustees. Robert Sedges, Billington, farmer and John Olney of same place, tailor, to be executors and trustees in place of sons. Sale of estate not to take place until 12 months after his decease, during which time Ann Potts could live in the house 1863 23 December. Codicil to said will. Cottage in Billington on North West side of blacksmith's shop in occupation of George Reading, now to go to wife Ann Potts Testator died on 30 December 1864. Probate granted on 3 March 1865
