- Scope and ContentReciting demise or mortgage of 8 February 1736 a) Elizabeth Coles, Leighton Buzzard, widow Benedict Coles, Leighton Buzzard, tallow chandler, her son b) Robert Lane, Bletchley, Buckinghamshire., dairyman Consideration - £110 paid to a) by b) a) demised to b) - messuage where said Benedict Coles dwelt etc in Leighton Buzzard West - Inn in occupation of John Collett East - Thomas Price term - 500 years to secure repayment of said £110 and interest Reciting also lease and release of 14 and 15 August 1747 1) Benedict Coles 2) William Perrott said messuage was granted to 2) subject to said mortgage Reciting that William Perrott in his lifetime paid off and discharged said principal sum of £110 and interest to Robert Lane but no surrender of said term has since been made Reciting death of Robert Lane on who by will of 27 January 1784 appointed his nephew Thomas Lane, Thomas Britt, Wolverton, Buckinghamshire, yeoman, and Philip Billington, Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, yeoman, as executors. Will proved (Prerogative Court of Canterbury) on 6 March 1786 Said Thomas Lane, Philip Billington and Thomas Britt have all since died but Thomas Britt survived the other two so said term became vested in him as survivor Said Thomas Britt died intestate and letters of administration were granted by Buckinghamshire Archdeaconry but as property is within the Peculiar of Leighton Buzzard, there is no legal representative of said Robert Lane as to said messuage Reciting that i) did take Letters of Administration of goods etc of Robert Lane on 22 January 1811 in said Peculiar and left unadministered and limitered to said term of 500 years and said messuage for the purpose of enabling him to assign same to a trustee for ii) the persons entitled thereof now in consideration of the premises i) at request of ii) transfers to iii) - said messuage etc for remainder of said term of 500 years in trust for ii) Signatures of i) and iii) Witness David Willis
