    Reciting will of Joseph Flemons of Leighton Buzzard, miller, who died on 17 November 1848 and by his will dated 5 February 1840 he devised all his property in Leighton Buzzard to son i), and son-in-law, James Olney on trust to permit wife, Elizabeth Flemons, to take rents for life and after her death to sell same. Will proved 5 May 1849 (Prerogative Court of Canterbury). James Olney died on 20 February 1856 and Elizabeth Flemons on 17 April 1867 property was put up for sale at Assembly Rooms in Leighton Buzzard on 5 August 1867 in 26 lots at which sale ii) was purchaser of Lot 17 at £375 now in Consideration of £375 paid by ii) to i) i) conveys to ii) - 5 cottages at Bedford Place near the North end of Leighton Buzzard formerly in the occupations of William Adkins, Pearcy Geeves, James Whitney, James Turney and Joseph Turney and now of William Chandler, Thomas Dimmock, Richard Hide, William Underwood and Abraham Pratt West - road to Heath and Reach and Great Brickhill North - formerly John Newman now George Green South - cottage formerly Francis Sanders, now Robert Richmond East - formerly John Bell and wife Charlotte, and now of John Sharpe - small piece of ground 36ft in length and 60ft in breadth (on East side) bought by John Osborn of Francis Sanders, whereon said cottages are built - plot of ground near America Butts (16 perches) used as garden to said cottages North - Sarah Ann Mead East - said cottages South - John Osborn West - Woburn Road Endorsed receipt Witness Henry Pettit, solicitor, Leighton Buzzard
