The Deponent of William Pratt on his Oath saith I am on of the Surveyors of the Highways for the Parish of Eaton Bray – Last Friday between Twelve and One o’clock I was on the Downs in the Parish of Eaton Bray and saw Francis Narrowell [Harrowell] ltaking the stones from the heaps which the surveyors had caused to be dug and putting them to another heap. When he saw me and the other surveyors he ran away. The heap which he was putting them to was not one of them we had caused to be dug.
