- Scope and ContentTo partner William Child of Bankside, Surrey, dyer; William Christie of Wappings, biscuit baker, and to nephew David Arkley of Ethebaten, Forfar, Scotland, £6,666 13s 4d in Consols to pay dividends to my brother Peter Arkley of Mill of Morris in Forfar and wife Eleanor for the life of the survivor, reversion to David Arkley absolutely To trustees a similar sum to pay dividends to niece Mathilda Milln daughter of my late sister Jane Milln deceased for life, the capital to go as directed by Matilda Milln by her last will and testament To trustees £1,500 consols to pay dividends to niece Jane Smith, another daughter of my late sister Jane Milln, wife of John Smith for life, then capital as directed for her last will To nephew John Milln, son of late sister, £2,000 consols To trustees £1,500 consols to pay income to niece Ann Ormond daughter of my late brother James Arkley, the now wife of Abraham Ormond for her life, on her death, stock to go as directed in her will To trustees £!,500 consols income to niece Matilda Lamb, another daughter of late brother James Arkely, widow of George Lamb deceased, for life, on her death stock to be distributed according to her will To partner William Child £500 for own use and £100 for mourning for his family To partner William Child late wife’s clothes and wearing apparel; also £20 to be divided amongst our Workmen To William Christie £50 and to Mrs Christie £20 and to their son John Christie £20 and to Jennett Bathie wife of George Bathie of Hammersmith £20 and to Mary Ann McNair wife of Archibald McNair of Abchurch Lane £20 and to Sophia Wilson wife of Thomas Wilson of Wapping £20 and to my friends the Reverend Doctor Young of the Scotch Church, London Wall, ten guineas, to William Chilow of Chancery Lane 10 guineas to Mrs Child, wife of my partner William Child, ten guineas for a mourning ring, to Joseph Hoare my bailiff ten guineas, to our foreman George Beaty ten guineas I wish to be interred in same place where my late wife is buried A gold mourning ring to such of my friends as shall be present at my funeral Provisions should partners William Child and his son Robert wish to continue to carry on the business of a dyer. To my nephew David Arkley my messuage or tenement and farm called Woodside in parish of Caddington, in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire; also the freehold messuage in Cannon Street in London in the tenure of one Hutchinson; also leasehold messuage or tenement in Turnwheel Alley, Cannon Street, moiety of field used for a tenter ground in St Leonard Shoreditch; with messuages built there To neice Mathilda Milln leasehold messuage wherein I now reside with appurtenances for remainder of term, with all furniture, plate, linen, wines, effects, my late wife’s and my own clothees excepted.
