ii) E P Rose and Son. Ltd., 50, High Street, Bedford (by Philip Barkway Peddar, their Managing Director)
iii) Corporation of Bedford (by George Francis Simmonds, Town Clerk)
reciting that i) hold a plot of land in Old George Yard subject to a right of pre-emption vested in iii), on which
i) maintain an electricity sub-station
ii) desire to extend their building over Old George Yard but before doing; so the electrical equipment needs to be removed so i) have agreed to remove said electrical equipment from Old George Yard and to convey to ii) said plot of land and in return ii) grant to i) a lease of the substation to be constructed in the basement of their building (as in drawing attached) for 999 years at rent of £1 p.a.
iii) granted planning permission no 2060 on 5 August 1955 for an electricity sub-station and has agreed to relinquish its right of pre-emption various agreements as to condition of works to be carried out including:
within one month of receiving certificate that works have been satisfactorily completed ii) will grant said lease of 999 years to i), and pay contribution of £5229 towards cost of work. Electrical equipment to be removed within 6 months and then i) will convey to ii)
- plot of land comprised in conveyance of 18 November 1932 between a) Percy James Dunstall and b) iii), together with substation building and right of way with first schedule detailing the work to be done to provide new sub-station and the removal of the electrical equipment from the old sub-station with second schedule reciting lease of 1950.

2) Eastern Electricity Board reciting that 1) demises to 2) - piece of basement of 2 and 4 Silver Street, and 46 - 54, High Street with right of 2) to install transforming plant, lay lines, enter to repair plant etc
