by lease of 9 September 1929 between a) Isabella Anne Herring, and b) Mabel Herring, no 46, High Street, Bedford, was demised to b) for 21 years from 24 June 1929 at yearly rent of £300 i) has carried on trade of milliner and costumier at said premises under name of H Howard and has agreed to sell her goodwill in said business for £100 for residue of term granted by said lease i) agrees not to carry on any similar business in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire or Home Counties, in consideration of which ii) agrees to pay sum equivalent (after deduction of income tax) of £500 as annuity or yearly sum iii) will be surety for said payment signatures of i) seal of ii) and signatures of A F Bobby and J E Griffin, seal and signatures of iii) - G M Wright and William H Kennedy
