- Scope and ContentWhereas: i) did on same day as presents surrender out of court to Francis Bushby and William Roffe, 2 other customary tenants of the Manor of Millbrook -cottage in Sandy End in Millbrook -orchard or pightle of pasture adjoining 1 acre late in occupation of Thomas Sayer -3 acres arable lying together in Longcroft between land of Judith Richards widow and the common leys -2 acres land together in Ford Field between King's highway and land of said Judith Richards -5 roods arable dispersed in Sandfield -1 acre in Eslington Bottom between land of said Judith Richards on both sides -½ acre land in Tinkers Furlong, land of Judith Richards late in occupation of William Harbutt -1 acre meadow in Thillands adjoining Ly Mead late in occupation of Robert Scarborough provisional surrender to use of ii) void on repayment of £120 with interest at 5% per annum Whereas: above mentioned premises are scant security for the sum now: Consideration: £120, the same as in the aforesaid surrender i) demises to ii) the following freehold premises: -11 acres in Highfield adjoining Lidlington Park late in occupation of John Crouch and now of i) -4 acres in Cobbfield, in Carters Peice -3 roods in same field -2 roods in same field -1 acre 2 roods in Sandfield -1 acre being a close on Turnershill all last mentioned premises in occupation of William Harborough and all in Millbrook for term of 500 years at peppercorn rent Signature: i) Witnesses: Thomas Burtt, Thomas Shefford 13 Aug 1742 Endorsement: Assignment i) Jonathan Ward ii) Right Honourable John Earl of Upper Ossory iii) Mathew Duane of Lincoln's Inn, Middlesex esquire Whereas: repayment not made ii) has purchased the within mentioned freehold and copyhold premises Now: Consideration: £120 paid to i) by ii) i) assigns to iii) by direction of ii) -within mentioned premises to hold for remainder of term in trust for ii) to attend the inheritance Witnesses: Richard Ward, Richard Fitz Patrick 30 Jul 1752
