    Recites deeds endorsed numbers 1-26 note in margin beside deed 3 (RO10/3): this deed is amongst these relating to the manor of Howend purchased by Lord Gowran note beside deed 6 (RO10/10) of Mortgage in Fee from Blofield, Fish and Rands to Robert Hewett foe securing £840 23 February 16 James I [i.e.RO2/3] [after no. 26 the hand changes and the deeds cease to be numbered] RO10/67-69, RO10/72-3 [the abstract is continued here on another smaller sheet of paper] RO10/74, RO10/70-71, RO10/78, RO10/76-77, RO10/80-1, RO10/49 13 June 1724 General Release from Charles Jones to William Edwards 13 April 1724 will of William Edwards (see below) RO10/82-85 Will of William Edwards. proved 4 May 1732 in Prerogative Court of Canterbury by Ann Edwards his widow and sole executrix charity of £3 per annum out of lands at Wilshamstead daughter Mary to be paid £1,000 by his son William out of his farm and lands at Houghton Conquest purchased of Charles Jones and in occupation of Robert Baker, to be paid at 21 or marriage if she married with consent of her mother, William Hillersdon esquire, Robert Bell esquire and the Reverend Mr Alexander Leith; if she married without consent the sum should not be paid but William Edwards was to pay £50 per annum out of the lands as she directed and after her death £1,000 to her children £200 to said daughter to be paid within 6 months after his mother's death to be paid out of his Bedford House. said house to wife. reversion of said house and all lands in Risely, Wilshamstead, Houghton Conquest, Millbrook and Elstow (not in jointure to wife) to son William Edwards after he attained 21: if he died without issue while a minor, to Mary. £400 to be paid son William at 21, out of which £40 per annum to be paid testator's wife pursuant to covenant in marriage settlement to increase her jointure £10 per annum for every £100 increase in her portion; he had received of Jasper Wagstaffe deceased executor of his late father in law John Wagstaffe £400 given by will of said father in law over and above marriage portion of £600. Charged said £40 per annum out of lands in Wilshamstead, viz. farm there in occupation of Robert Harthall, £300 out of personal estate to be put out at interest on trusts; wife executrix and residuary legatee said Mary attained 21 and then married the Reverend Lewis Monoux of Sandy, clerk, to whom the £1,000 was paid as in RO10/82
