    Whereas: William Edwards late of the Town of Bedford esquire deceased, by will dated 13 April 1724 bequeathed to daughter Mary Edwards £1,000 to be paid by his son William Edwards out of his farm and lands at Houghton Conquest lately purchased of Charles Jones and then in occupation of Robert Baker, to be paid her at age 21 or marriage (if sooner, with consent of mother, William Hillersdon esquire, Robert Bell and Reverend Mr Alexander Leith) said Mary married after attaining 21, the Reverend Lewis Monoux of Sandy, clerk to whom the legacy was paid by William Edwards the son and the same has been laid out in purchase of lands in Great Stoughton, Huntingdonshire and settled on trusts by marriage settlement of said Mary and Lewis Now: i) release to ii) -all claim in aforesaid sum Signature: i) Witnesses: John Thurley, Mary Crane Annexed: Receipt i) Lewis Monoux ii) William Edwards £350 19 Feb 1733/4 £250 10 Apr 1734 £400 15 Apr 1734
