    (I) Conveyance of 15 May 1929 Parties: (i) Ernest Garratt Blow of Poynters, Houghton Regis, farmer (ii) Hugh Cumberland of The Lynchet, Hart Hill, Luton and Edmund Hugh Woods of Town Farm, Ivinghoe (Bucks) (iii) The Guardians of the Poor of the Luton Union Reciting: - Will of 14 Febraury 1927 Young Jem Blow late of Poynters Farm, Houghton Regis died 18 March 1927, proved 31 August 1927 in PPR, appointing (i) and Alfred Cecil Nye executors - Vesting assent of 20 March 1929 in which (a) and (b) descended to (i) - (iii) agreed with (i) and (ii) to purchase (a) and (b) as site for a Poor Law Institution - Order of the Minister of Health of 5 March 1929 approving the purchase Operative part: - (i) sells (a) to (iii) for £1808 14s 6d - (i) sells (b) and (c) to (iii) for £700 - (ii) resells (b) and (c) to (iii) for £900 - (iii) pays £700 to (i) and £200 to (ii) - (i) conveys (b) and (c) to (iii) Property: (a) 40.194 acres of land at Houghton Regis forming part of No.135 on OS map, with frontage of 726 feet towards the NE to the main road from Houghton Regis to Luton, bounded on: NW by land of Edith Mary Part; SE partly by (b) and partly by land of (ii). Shown in green on attached plan (b) land at Houghton Regis totalling 20 acres with (c), with frontage on NE to other land of (ii), bounded on NW by (a). Shown in pink on attached plan (c) strip of land 40 feet wide running from SW corner of the plot to the main road from Dunstable to Luton (Icknield Way). Shown in blue on attached plan. Habendum - (iii) to hold in fee simple Covenant: - (ii) covenant to (iii) that they would not in developing adjoining land make or permit to be made any road which would subject (iii) to roadmaking or sewering charges - (ii) to deliver schedule documents to (iii) Schedule: - 31 August 1927 probate of will of Young Jem Blow - 20 March 1929 vesting assent as recited above (II) On 1 April 1930 property of Guardians of the Poor of Luton Union vested in Bedfordshire County Council under Local Government Act 1929 (III) On 5 July 1948 Local Government Act 1929 repealed, (a) and (b) remained vested in Bedfordshire County Council under National Assistance Act 1948 (IV) Memorandum endorsed on (I) that by conveyance of 20 March 1954 (c) was conveyed to Rootes Properties Ltd (V) Written consent of 6 November 1958 of Minister of Housing and Local Government to sale for £71,500 of 29.05 acres in Poynters Road, Dunstable forming part of (a) and (b) (VI) Memorandum endorsed on (I) that by conveyance of 1 December 1958 67 poles of land forming part of (a) and (b) fronting to Poynters Road was conveyed to Shell-Mex and B.P.Limited. (VII) Official search of 22 May 1959 in Land Charges Registry revealed Land Charged Class C dated 13 January 1959 No.3490 being registration of contract for sale as in (VIII) and other entries certified as not affecting the land which is the subject of this abstract (VIII) Conveyance of 25 May 1959 Parties: (1) Bedfordshire County Council (2) Pearce and Barker Limited Reciting (I), (II) and (V) above Operative part: - (1) conveys (A) to (2) for £71500 Property: (a) 29.05 acres of land at Houghton Regis (part of (a) and (b) in (I) above), shown in red on attached plan, with right to construct a new road and lay drains etc under area shown in yellow on plan and other drainage and access rights.
