Thanks Prescott for sending sequel to Caddington Wood dispute. 'I am glad it amuses you to correct VCH - being still little more than a schoolboy I have not yet learned to associate pleasure with correction. But, joking apart, VCH seems to have been rather in a hurry in former years, with the evils attendant. If it were not there to correct, though, there would not be a basis already provided to work upon - that is one thing we must be thankful for. I am returning your extracts from S P Dom [enclosed] after having puzzled over them for some time.'
