    in performance of will of Roger Hackett esquire deceased, late father of i) and ii) and in consideration of £800 payable by i) to ii) by the will of said Roger Hackett deceased, and in discharge of all lands and tenements in North Crawley aforesaid bequeathed to ii) by said Roger Hackett, i) conveys to ii) -close of pasture with appurtenances in Howend in Houghton Conquest 28 acres next adjoining and belonging to one messuage in Howend late in occupation of Elizabeth Blofeild widow and now in occupation of said Nicholas Hackett which close is parcel of those 3 closes formerly one pasture and called Westley or Westey in Howend and parcel of the inheritance of Giles Blofeild, gentleman deceased , which premises i) at request of ii) and for said consideration of £800 lately purchased of Elizabeth Blofeild widow, Jacob Pennington and wife Mary, Mathew Denton and John Style gentleman [see Appendix B to Introduction] the same being of the value of £40 per annum besides reprise [i.e. after all rent-charges or other annual payments have been made] to use of ii) for life and then to 1st son etc., for want of issue to Thomas and Roger Hackett brothers of ii) to be held of the manor of East Greenwich in free and common socage and not in chief or by knight's service Signature: i) Witnesses: Henry Sibthorp, John Baskervile, William Wallis Endorsement: Livery of Seisin "The settlement made by my brother Thomas Hackett to mee of the part of Westy that has been purchased" [NB: F181 is the counterpart of this deed and is endorsed: "My settlement of land in Howend on my brother Nicholas in discharge of Eastfields"]
