- Scope and ContentObjects to acquiring from William Pickering good will of business carried on by Pickering called “Pale Ale Brewery”, Baldock, Hertfordshire, and all lands and fixtures etc. To carry on business and expand it – wholesale and retail businesses of Brewers, Maltsters, ale, beer, porter, tea, coffee and cocoa merchants, distillers, refiners, corn and hop merchants and growers, finings manufacturers and isinglass merchants, wine and spirit merchants, importers, exporters, manufacturers and dealers in aerated and mineral waters and other drinks, licensed victuallers, hotel, beerhouse or inn-keepers, grocers, restaurant-keepers, lodging house keepers, theatre and music hall proprietors, bakers, confectioners, caterers and contractors for refreshments and entertainments of all kinds, ice-merchants, tobacco, cigar and snuff manufacturers, florists, newsvendors, coopers, cask, bottle, glass, cork and stopper manufacturers and merchants, timber-merchants, carriers, carters, carriage proprietors, livery stable keepers, bankers, money changers, bill brokers, postmasters, farmers, dairymen, graziers and nurserymen, grain dealers and dryers, store and shopkeepers, etc. Can acquire ships, barges, lighters and boats, wharves and warehouses and to carry on business of ship-owners, barge-owners, wharfingers, warehousemen and merchants Can construct etc. roads, ways, tramways, railway branches or sidings etc., bridges, reservoirs, canals, docks, piers or wharves, watercourses, breweries, malthouses, refrigerators, factories, hydraulic, gas or electric works, warehouses and other works etc. Can join any association for protection of masters etc. against loss by forfeiture or deprivation of licences, bad debts, strikes, workmen’s combinations, fire, accidents etc. Can contribute to exhibitions or any agricultural show and for benefit of friendly, co-operative and other societies, clubs, political or non-political or party associations or funds, reading rooms, libraries, educational or charitable institutions, churches, chapels, schools, hospitals, shelters, recreation grounds, promenades and parks, to grant pensions and allowances and contribute to fund raised by Public subscription Can advertise “and in any matter whatever which may be calculated to increase the popularity or the notoriety of the Company” Capital of Company is £22,000 divided into 22,000 shares of £1 each following agree to take one share:- Herbert Roycroft Wilson of the Gables, Brondesbury Park, London NW., brewer; A Harry Wilson of same, director; Maria Wilson of same, married; Madge Wilson of same, spinster; William Francis Knight (secretary); W F Knight, 12 Buckingham Street, Strand; W E M Watson of 3 Eldon Road, Kensington, London W., brewer; Thomas Chellow Jenkin, 56, Gauden Road, Clapham, London SW., gentleman 5 Jan 1898
