Letter from Mary Weston, 43 Goldington Road, Bedford. Dad responding well only waiting to be told can leave his caliper off, cannot do without nurse yet, over 8 months with one. Busy spring cleaning so turned out a lot of letters, found enclosed, 'so thought you would be pleased to have yur mothers writing, was so very pleased to find it, so brought all those happy days back, for so well remember you making the lovely trifle & jellies for your dinner party. Gordon was very please to read it - so am sure you will be.' Gordon meeting some of the town council about houses. John & Fran over look well and love their quiet live at Harston. Letter from S Walker, Buriton, 27th March (pre 1884). 'My dear Mary I hope that it is convenient to you to come a week on Tuesday Lucy Cranfield is coming on that day and as you generally come together I shall be pleased to see you on Tuesday week. We are going to dine six or seven officers on Good Friday so we shall have to dress for dinner so you can bring your light dress with you. John was here two years ago for the Review and went with Mary & Lizzie I dont know if he will make up his mind this year if you will write to me by return of post. Your uncle reached home a 1/4 to ten last Monday after going to a great many places. Yesterday was rent day today he is gone to the board. I dont know how many of the volunteers we shall lodge in the barns but some. Mary & Lizzie they all join with me in kind love to all and Remain your aunt S Walker. I hope that your papa and mama are well.'
