    Copy conveyance Parties: (i) William Edward Sackville West, late lieutenant colonel, Grenadier Guards of Limegrove, Bangor [North Wales]; Sackville Arthur Cecil of The Oasthouse, Hayes Common, Bromley [Kent]; (ii) Francis Charles Hastings, 9th Duke of Bedford; (iii) David Cripps Preston of 255 Brixton Road, Lambeth [Surrey]; (iv) George Frederick Prickett late of Grantham [Lincolnshire], now of The Elms, Great Stanmore [Middlesex], hotel keeper Reciting: (I) will of Francis, 7th Duke of Bedford, of 7th May 1861 devising all his real estate to Charles Romilly, George Russell and Thomas Henry, Baron Foley in trust for (ii) with power for (i) to sell (II) death of Francis, 7th Duke of Bedford on 14th May 1861 and proof of his will and two codicils in PPR on 31st July 1861 seized of (a) (III) death of Thomas Henry, Baron Foley on 20th November 1869 (IV) death of William, 8th Duke of Bedford on 26th May 1872 (V) indenture of 9th October 1874 (1) Hastings, 9th Duke of Bedford; (2) Charles Romilly (3) George Russell (4) Samuel Whitbread appointing (4) instead of (3) as trustee of the will of 7th Duke of Bedford (VI) indenture of 31st January 1883 (1) Duke of Bedford; (2) Charles Romilly and Samuel Whitbread; (3) William Edward Sackville West and Sackville Arthur Cecil in which (3) replaced (2) as trustees of the will of Francis, 7th Duke of Bedford (VII) no sale or mortgage of (a) had occurred (VIII) (i), with consent of (ii), agreed to sell (a) to (iii) for £7,600 (IX) it was agreed that the conveyance would include covenants and reservations as below (X) (iii) later agreed to sell (a) to (iv) for £8,500 and (i), with the consent of (ii), at the request of (iii) agreed to convey (a) direct to (iv) Operative Part: - (iv) gave £7,600 to (i); - (iv) gave £900 to (iii); - (i), with consent of (ii) and by direction of (iii), conveyed (a) to (iv) Property [as shown on attached plan]: (a) The Swan Hotel, High Street, Bedford with forecourt, yards, gardens, coachhouses, stabling, sheds, buildings, outhouses and appurtenances belonging Habendum: - to (iii) for ever Reservation - to (i) of the right of wall and railing on the S boundary of (a) as marked on the plan; - to (i) the right of blocking up openings for doors, windows and ventilators in the walls of the carriage shed, stables and W.
