Albert Frank Best was one of three brothers, Frank, Jack and Ernest, who wrote to Miss Walker during the first world war. They were all bank clerks in Petersfield, as was their father Albert Malcolm Best. The Best family were the foremost of the non-family mourners at the funeral of Miss Sarah Elizabeth Walker in 1913. In 1901 the family lived at Harrow on the Hill, where the three boys had all been born, Albert was 10, Jack 9 and Ernest 7. By 1911 Albert, his wife Lizzie Jane, Frank and Ernest were at Ivy[?] Cottage Petersfield, while Jack was a boarder in Uckfield.
