- Scope and Content£100 and all wearing apparel, consumable stores and as much household furniture, plate, linen, glass, china, prints, pictures and books as may be necessary to furnish a house for herself to wife, Maria Cranfield. All residue of furniture and effects, live and dead farming stock, money, securities and all other personal estate to executors on trust that they shall carry on farming business for the life of Maria Cranfield. The trustees to sell remainder of personal estate to pay funeral and testamentary expenses, debts (excepting mortgages) and bequest to wife. The residue to be invested with one fourth part of the income being paid to the testator’s wife for her lifetime. Subject to the life interest to wife, the trust monies and income to form part of a residuary trust for the benefit of Mary Jane Cranfield, Emily Wilkerson Cranfield and Annie Cranfield, (testators three children from a former marriage), and their children and issue. All freehold farm lands, tenements, cottages and hereditaments at Cotton End and all other real estate to executors in trust, subject to the mortages and incumbrances affecting them. Rents and profits from the said property to be used to pay: 1. Annuity of £150 to be paid to Jonathan Cranfield, father of testator, during his lifetime; such annuity to be paid from profits deriving from the management of the real estate. Such payment to be in performance of and not in addition to an annuity contained in a deed dated 4 Nov 1875. 2. Interest due on mortgages and incumbrances 3. Cost of repairs and amendments that trustees deem desirable 4. One third part of clear residue of estate income to be paid to wife during her life 5. Subject to live interest of wife, the whole of the residue of rents and profits to form part of the residuary trust for the benefit of Mary Jane Cranfield, Emily Wilkerson Cranfield and Annie Cranfield, (testators three children from a former marriage), and their children and issue. Further trust: After death of father, Jonathan Cranfield, trustees to sell all real estate and from the money raised shall: 1. Discharge all mortgages and incumbrances 2. Pay all costs of sale 3. Invest the residue of sale proceeds as directed 4. One fourth part of income from such investment to be paid to wife during her lifetime. 5. Subject to live interest of wife, the whole of the residuary sale monies and the investments and income thereof to form part of the residuary trust for the benefit of Mary Jane Cranfield, Emily Wilkerson Cranfield and Annie Cranfield. Further trust: Trustees stand possessed of the whole residue of real and personal estate not before disposed of, and the investment and income thereof (residuary trust funds) for the said three daughters in equal shares, to be vested in them respectively as and when they attain the age of 21 years or marry. Wife Maria Cranfield, and after her decease John Rogers and James Thomas Hobson to be guardians of testator’s three daughters while minors. John Rogers, auctioneer and estate agent, and any furure trustee who is an auctioneer, estate agent or solicitor to be entitled to charge the estate for all business done in relation to the testator’s estate.
