Scope and Content
Reciting resolution of Trustees on 2 April 1805 that a lease be granted to 2) for 99q years from Lady Day 1805 of:
- house and premises situated to the east of the County Gaol and the western extremity of the range of buildings then lately erected by the Trustees
in exchange for:
- messuage and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate in front of the said premises
to be held at an annual ground rent of E4 4s clear of all taxes (Land Tax excepted), and on further condition that the sum of 5s. only should be paid by the Trustees as purchase money for the Red Lion and its appurtenances
Also reciting further resolution of 7 July 1806 rescinding that part of the previous resolution relating to the Red Lion public house in St.Lloyds and stating that a lease for 99 years from Midsummer 1806 should be granted to 2) he paying a clear yearly rent of £2 2s.
Whereas 2) has for 5s. conveyed to 1) the Red Lion public house which has since been taken down; a house and premises intended to be leased have been since the making of the resolution called or known by the name of the Red Lion but no lease has been granted; 2) has requested 1) to grant a lease to 3)

Lease by 1) to 3) for 99 years from Midsummer 1806 of:
- all that new erected messuage or tenement in the occupation of Mary Allison, widow, called or known by the name of the Red Lion in a certain new-formed street called Harpur Street in the parish of St.Paul, Bedford, to the east of the County Gaol, and at the western extremity of the range of buildings created by 1) in the said street, abutting North and West on land of the Duke of Bedford, East on the said building of 1), and South on Harpur Street, with appurtenances
