George Henry Booth was born Bedford 25 June 1911, son of John Evans Booth & Elizabeth (nee Johnstone-Rennie). He attended Queen’s Park School, Bedford 1916 – 1926 and evening classes at Bedford Modern School. He left School in June 1926 and was employed as a Junior Clerk at CC Bell & Son, Solicitors, 24 Mill Street, Bedford.
