  • Scope and Content
    Deposition of Edward Horley - he now lives in Langford and is chargeable to the parish. His wife died a short time ago and he has 8 chidlren living at home (lists names and ages as above). About 11 years ago he hired a farm in the parish of Maulden. He hired it from year to year from the Duke of Bedford at a rent of £120 p.a.. He lived in it 7 years and paid the rent for the first five years. For the two last years they seized his property and sold it and paid themselves. A year and a half ago he hired a house in Langford from Mr Hickson at £10 p.a. and lived there for a year and a half. He only paid £9 15s rent for the first year and £4 17s 6d for the last half year.
