Scope and Content
Recites Ruth Linford is seised in fee simple of 8½ acres arable land and close of pasture in Wilshamstead (Wilstead) And in ¼ share of messuage, 3 cottages, several closes or inclosed pieces of garden ground and several pieces of arable or ley ground in Maulden and Clophill (expectant on death of her mother)
Recites Lease for 1000 years
1) Edmund Norwood of Ecton, Northamptonshire, gentleman
2) Richard Tompson of Wilshamstead
messuage or tenement in Wilshamstead where Anthony Wright then dwelt with pightle or pasture adjoining (2 acres)
abutting W. Common Green, E. Hooked Lane
and 3½ acres of arable in common fields of Wilshamstead viz:
1 acre being 2 sellions lying together on Western Town side
abutting N. Hillway, S. ground then or late of William Pyatt esquire
and 1 acre more being 2 sellions lying together at Road End ditch, a land then or late of John Warner “lying betwixt”
abutting W. Sisets Leys, E. the vicar’s headland
and 1 acre in Hill Field of which
a) ½ acre on the North Croft
abutting E. and W. land then or late of Elizabeth Woodhead
b) ½ acre shooting on the pightle then or late of George Keyes and
