Abstract of Title Copy of Court Roll of Manor of Girtford, formerly White Swan admission of Frederick Archdale recites Copy of Court Roll of 25 July 1854 admission: William Hogge and Robert Lindsell, bankers and co-partners on surrender of Mary and Thomas Ball moiety of “White Swan”, Girtford, formerly 2 tenements, now used as a dwelling house erected and built by Thomas Ball deceased on part of garden ground lately sold by Mary Ball and Thomas Ball to Charles Powers And:- all that piece of garden ground lying behind messuage, then sticked off from another piece of garden ground also sold to Charles Powers Total: frontage to Great North Road of 33 ft in depth to bottom of garden 223 ft sometime in occupation of Mary and Thomas Ball now of Crossley Fine 1s..2d Hercot 1s Fine £15 5 Nov 1867 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- similar admission of Frederick Archdale, C S Lindsell, William Seppings, George Newbury made c.1898
