- Scope and ContentThis Deponent George Robinson on his Oath saith as follows: - I am a Labourer and live at Podington. On Friday the 10th March I was working in a field called [Stumpy Close] for Mr Tye. I took my lunch which I placed by the side of a Bean Stack in the same field. The Lunch was wrapped up in a Bag. I put it there about 7.30 in a basket. About 9 o’clock I went to get my Lunch and found it had gone. I value my Lunch and Bag at 9d. I think the piece of Pork now produced is mine. The said John Godman on his Oath saith I am a Police Constable stationed at Podington. On Friday March 10th about 9 am I was told by the last witness that his lunch had been stolen from Stumpy Close. As I suspected the Defendant I went in search of him. On Saturday morning about 6 am I went to some Building called Whitlands in Podington and there found the defendant and on searching him found the food produced. I was going to take him to Podington when he said I admit I stole this lot, but not the other. Statement of Accused; Guilty
