    “penitent and sorry from the bottom of my heart for my sins past....” Body to be buried in the chancel of Toddington church. To the poor of Toddington 40s, i.e. 4d each to 60 poor, of whom executors shall make choice; remainder for bread at funeral. To son Theodore for life Greens Mead, and then to grandson Thomas; land in Wormarke purchased of Mr Mawdett, then to grandson Joseph; ½ acre abutting on Frenchmans Way, and 7 perches meadow adjoining; and then to grandson Joseph; To granddaughter Dorothy “trunk in my chamber with all the linen therein; a court cupboard and a folding table”; To daughter-in-law Sarah “my chest at my bed’s head with all that is therein”; To son Theodore and wife Sarah for lives close at High Townes End called Townend close; then granddaughter Sarah to be paid £20 therefrom; To granddaughter Mary also £20 out of the said close; To grandson John tenement in occupation Frances Wynne, widow, subject to £10 to John’s brother Joseph. In default Joseph is to enter into that part of the tenement that the shop belongeth unto next the street, late in possession Henry Stanbridge.
