- Scope and ContentOwen Lawrence: he was a blocker and lived at 17 Spring Place, Luton. On Saturday 14 December he had a black tin bowl safe in his yard and it had a wooden handle to it. It was safe between 8pm and 9pm. There was an open passage from the street into the back yard. He missed it on 15 December and next saw it on 18th at the police station. It was worth 6d. The handle had been broken off since he lost it. Inspector George James: he found the bowl on Sunday 15 December in one of the bundles in the prisoner’s house. It was in the same state as it was now. The prisoner said it was his brother and had come from London. Statement of the accused: his brother had brought the things and he knew nothing of them.
