Devises to William Dent of Clarence Terrace, Pentonville (county Middlesex) (nephew of her late husband Edward Chapman), her messuage in St John Street in Bedford, in occupation of William Ruffhead; her maulthouse, kiln and kiln-house in St John Street, in occupation of Miss Sarah Holben; a farm and buildings in St John Street, in occupation of John Cottam; and a farm consisting of several closes of arable, in the parish of St Mary and Kempston, in occupation of John Cottam. Also to friend John Seabrook of Maulden, farmer, a messuage and public house called the “Horse and Groom” in St Mary’s; a close called the Sewells, at the back of the messuage; and 2 messuages in St Mary’s, in occupation of Widow Thurley and [blank] Smith. Bequests to William Seabrook and Samuel Seabrook of Ampthill, farmers (brothers of John Seabrook), Elizabeth Seabrook of Maulden (sister of John Seabrook), William and Jabez Toms (children of her deceased brother William Toms), Sarah and Mary Tingay (children of William Toms), Ezra Eagles of St Paul’s, Bedford, gentleman, Edward John Eagles (son of Ezra Eagles), the Treasurer of the General Infirmary, Bedford, Jane Stevens (wife of George Stevens, late of Bedford, music-master, and now of Pimlico (county Middlesex), and a sister-in-law of Edward Chapman), Charles Berrill (son of William Berrill of St Mary’s, Bedford, builder), Sarah Ellis (wife of Joseph Ellis of Triplow (county Cambridgeshire)), Mary Driver (wife of Henry Driver of Islington (county Middlesex)), Jane Webb (wife of Octavus Webb of Fowlmere (county Cambridgeshire)) and Sarah Holben of St Mary’s, Bedford, (with whom Elizabeth Chapman now resides).
