    William Barker: he was a plate layer living in Sandy. About a fornight ago he put tin peds in his barn at Sandy. A day or two later he missed one of them.. 3 or 4 days later he was shown the ped which was the same as he had missed from the barn. Amos Coleman: he lived in St Neot. On 13 May he was an ostler at the Fox & Hounds public house in St Neots. A little after 9am the prisoners and another man came into the yard. William Sutton and the other man were riding in a cart and Frederick Sutton was walking behind. He observed a ped in the cart. It was the same one as now produced. He knew it by the marks and inside he could hear some poultry making a noise. William Housden: he was poulterer living at Huntingdon. On 13 May he was at St Neots market about 9am when 2 men came up to him. The taller man asked if he was a chicken buyer and he told him he was. They then took him to the Fox & Hounds public house and showed him 9 chickens in a ped. It was marked the same as the one produced. He looked at the chickens but declined to buy them.
