- Scope and ContentJohn Cross: employed by Mrs. Johnson, grocers of Luton. On 16th August, the prisoner entered the shop and asked for 3 pork pies and a tin of milk for Mrs. Edward Green. Mrs. Edward Green was a customer of the grocers and he believed the prisoner’s statement. He gave the prisoner the goods and a bill. The prisoner returned to the shop on 6th September and asked for more goods. Ernest Green: resident of Hart Hill, Luton and living with his father and mother. He did not know the prisoner and the prisoner had never been employed by his father or mother. To his knowledge the prisoner had never been authorised to buy goods for his father or mother. William Henry Currell: police constable of Luton. On 6th September he arrested the prisoner. George Francis: Nothing to say
