Letter from Francis Bartholomew. Has inspected the farm and was astonished to find that Grimes had not fulfilled the lease terms by putting fences, gates and buildings in good repair. He has not painted the house inside and out, nor repaired the house and buildings. Grimes states he took the farm on condition that the landlords, the Corporation of Lincoln, were to paint the house and buildings. Whiting will not sign the new lease until everything is in good repair.
