Magistrates: John Harvey, William Shove Chalk, Frederick C G Passy, C C Beaty Pownall. 32 prisoners in custody. 26 males 6 females. There were 10 in custody at the corresponding periods of last year, being an increase of 22!! One fourth however of these do not belong to the County. David Humphries health is improving. William Dyer (debtor) health is improved and he is removed from the sick list this morning. Ordered that John Carrington, John Odell, Eli Minnard, George Stevens, Jesse Chew; being all prisoners of the same class (viz, for want of sureties) and at present all confined in the same ward, be mployed in whitewashing carious parts of the prison, care being taken that they do not communicate with any other class of prisoners.
