Magistrates: Charles Gillies Payne, Charles Moore. 25 prisoners in custody. The Governor reported that P Stapleton a prisoner convicted of an assault, died on Thursday morning and was buried in St Pauls churchyard on Friday evening - four of his friends attended the funeral. The prisoner died of fever. All precautions have been taken to prevent infection, and no other prisoner in the gaol has been similarly affected.
