    a) piece of land, Sandy (note in red ink “This will be Cope’s land and any of the land now in hand”) b) piece of land adjacent to same part of a) AND messuage known as Caesar’s Camp and outbuildings “subject to the leases under which these premises are now held” Liberty of 2) to extract brick, earth, sand, clay, gravel and chalk to depth not exceeding 6 feet below surface of adjoining Railway line. Excavations to be open to the daylight and not by underground workings. Liberty to manufacture materials got under above authority into Bricks of the “ordinary standard sizes” (added in black ink). Tiles deleted but kept in rest of lease. Liberty to build any engines, machinery, kilns, clamps, offices, stables and other buildings and any roads. Liberty to make ash heaps and spoil banks. Must be yards from any dwelling house. Landlord reserves any minerals not expressly mentioned above. (In case of dispute or arbitration) Timber, game etc. reserved. Rent Royalty of 6d for every thousand ordinary sized bricks and tiles due to landlord subject to a minimum of £300 per annum. Bricks for building on site allowed. Store topsoil for reclamation of land; liability to fence site; tenant not allowed to move from the site any unmanufactured brick earth or clay. Not to dig over more than 5 acres at any one time. Not allowed to start in another area till down to 6 feet below railway line. Liability to keep proper account books of bricks produced – abstract to be delivered quarterly to Landlord
