- Scope and ContentWilliam Armstrong – he is constable fo Lower Stondon. Last night about 11pm he was sent for to the house of a man named James Gazeley in Lower Stondon to quell a riot. He found Abraham Spring in the house. Gazeley told him to turn Spring out. Spring refused to go and then struck him three times with his fist. He thought Spring was drunk. He showed Spring his constable’s staff. James Gray – he has heard what Armstrong has just said. He was present and what Armstrong has said is true.
