    PC George Pryor: on 22 December he had occasion to search the premises of Daniel Flint at Shefford. Daniel Flint and James Odell were present. He found in the yard the duck which he produced. Flint said he had it from Mr Peacock at Stamford. Odell said he bought it off Flint for 18 pence. He took the boys into custody and afterwards took the duck to Mr Peacock and showed it to George Ball who identified it as his master’s duck. George Ball: he worked for Mr Henry John Peacock and looked after his ducks. On Christmas morning he missed one of his master’s ducks. On 28 December PC Pryor brought a ducks which he knew to be the one that was lost. He knew it by its bill. Statement of the accused: nothing to say.
