Apprenticeship Indenture: Robert Powell son of Joseph Powell of the Old Peacock Inn, Sandhouse, Heath & Reach, innholder and farrier with the consent of his said father, doth put himself apprentice to John Felix Matthews of Leighton Buzzard, carpenter & joiner and cabinet maker and upholsterer.

Apprenticeship Indenture: Robert Powell son of Joseph Powell of the Old Peacock Inn, Sandhouse, Heath & Reach, innholder and farrier with the consent of his said father, doth put himself apprentice to John Felix Matthews of Leighton Buzzard, carpenter & joiner and cabinet maker and upholsterer. From the 29th March now last past for the term of seven years or until the said apprentice shall attain the age of twenty one years. John Felix Matthews for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds to him now paid by the said Joseph Powell the receipt whereof he hereby acknowledges His said apprentice in the arts of a carpenter& joiner and cabinet maker and upholsterer which he useth by the best means that he can shall teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed finding unto the said apprentice sufficient meat drink lodging and tools during the said term. And the said Joseph Powell hereby agrees to find and provide for his said son sufficient and proper clothes washing medicine and medical and other attendance in case of sickness and all other necessaries (except meat drink tools and lodging which are to be provided by the said John Felix Matthews as aforesaid) during all the said term.
