- Scope and ContentApprenticeship Indenture: Sarah Abbot daughter of John Abbot of Flitwick in the County of Bedford, farmer, by and with the consent of her said father testified by his being a party to and executing these presents, doth put herself apprentice to Mary Truman of Crown Street, Finsbury Square, parish of Shoreditch, Middlesex, milliner and dressmaker. From the day of the date hereof for the term of three years. Mary Truman for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty pounds to her in hand now paid by the said John Abbot the receipt whereof she doth hereby acknowledge. Her said apprentice in the arts of a milliner & dressmaker which she useth by the best means that she can shall teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed finding unto the said apprentice sufficient meat drink and lodging and also allowing unto the said apprentice sufficient time for making and mending her own clothes during the said term. And the said John Abbot hereby agrees to find and provide for his said daughter sufficient and proper clothes washing medical attendance and all other necessaries (except meat drink lodging and he making and mending of such clothes as aforesaid) during all the said term.
