    Apprenticeship Indenture: James Warr son of John Warr of Aspley Guise, grazier (by and with the consent of his said father testified by his executing these presents), apprentice to John Hewett of Aspley Guise, carpenter and joiner. From the 8th day of August now last past for the term of four years or until the said apprentice shall attain the age of twenty one years. John Hewett for and in consideration of the sum of thirty five pounds paid to him by the said John Warr on or before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt thereof he doth hereby acknowledge His said apprentice in the art and science of a carpenter and joiner which he useth by the best means that he can shall teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed finding unto the said apprentice sufficient meat drink clothes lodging tools and nurse in case of illness and all other necessaries during the said term. And the said John Warr doth hereby covenant and promise to find and provide for his said son sufficient and proper clothes washing mending medicine and medical attendance and all other necessaries (except meat drink lodging and a nurse in case of illness which are to be provided by the said John Hewett as aforesaid) during all the said term. With loose note of terms and conditions. John Warr aged 17. £20 down and £15 1838.
